Planetary Menu at a School Canteen (Poland)

We are joining forces with Campus Bemke in Klecza Dolna, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, to work on the primary school's menu. It will include more seasonality and local produce, and canteen staff will receive nutrition training.

From farm to school model

Campus Bemke School is pioneering in Poland food production education, by partially growing their own food in a garden located next to the school building. Kids, parents and teachers have chance to engage and get their hands dirty through the year to grow salads, potatoes, tomatoes, herbs and many other nutritious crops.

Working towards a planetary diet

HarvestCare is supporting this transition by working on the school’s menu to adapt its dietary requirements as:

  • Gluten-free diet

  • Lactose-free diet

  • Vegetarian diet

Additionally, we are working to include more seasonal dishes using local ingredients. We aim to find ways to incorporate more beans, vegetables, and whole grains into dishes that kids will enjoy.
